The colours and shapes of the painting are influenced by a handmade knitted cardigan, the pinks, oranges and white bearing resemblance to the lesbian pride flag.

 

Whereas lesbians are often oversexualised, wool carries a feeling a of tenderness and familial love representative of the domestic lifestyle. Lesbianism within the lesbian gaze, a reclamation of feminine identity and domesticity.
